Silhouette Snowman Card

Hello everyone, today I am posting a recipe for a card I have made using another of the new gorgeous Little Claire Christmas silhouette stamps and this one is called "Silhouette Snowman". It seems strange making Christmas cards when the sun is cracking the flags but Christmas will be upon us before we know it and if you have lots of cards to give out it`s best to start early. Silhouette stamps are great because they do all the work for you - no colouring in, no colour matching just stamping and playing.

what you will need:
Little Claire Silhouette Santa stamp
6" x 6" base card
white linen card
blue card
white card
Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder
die cutting machine
sentiment
Versa Mark water mark ink pad
heat gun
Stampin Stuff Winter Wonderland Opaque embossing powder
anti static pad
blue & white ribbon
ring binder hole punch

Stick the linen card onto the base card and cut to size.

Cut a piece of the plain white card so that it can be used with the embossing folder and run through the die cutting machine. Do this twice.
Measure 2 11/16" down from the edge of the longest side of the embossed design and cut. Do the same with the other piece of card.
Align the two  pieces of card along  the cut edge and stick together on the reverse with sticky tape,  remember to line up the side edges of the embossed design (don't worry that the patterns don't match up as the ribbon will cover this).
Cut the embossed card to the required size.

Attach a piece of ribbon along the join of the embossed card and secure around the back.

Mat and layer the embossed card onto a piece of blue card and stick the whole lot onto the base card.

Rub the anti static pad over a piece of blue card.
Using the Versa Mark ink pad stamp the Silhouette Snowman image onto the blue card.
Sprinkle the Winter Wonderland embossing powder over the image and shake off the excess.
Heat from behind with the heat gun.
Cut the image down to size and stick onto the base card using foam pads.

For my sentiment I used a pre-set sentiment from my graphics program (Craft Artist) and re sized it to 2" and then coloured it blue, but if you like to stamp your sentiment then stamp it onto a piece of white linen card using a dark blue ink pad.

Cut the sentiment to size and mat and layer it onto a piece of blue card.
Stick the sentiment onto the base card using a strong glue.

Punch 6 dots from the blue card using the hole punch and bevel them.
Stick the dots onto the card.

So Exciting Silhouette Christmas Card

Well a couple of weeks ago Little Claire sent me a bumper parcel of lovely goodies (I love it when the postie delivers a LC mystery parcel) and this is one of the cards I have made with their new silhouette Christmas stamps. The stamps are not on sale yet but keep a look out because they are coming soon.

what you will need:
Little Claire Silhouette So Exciting stamp
6" x 6" base card
gold mirri card
green sugar paper
turquoise leather embossed card
good quality mat print paper
Artylicious Seasons Greetings (disc  1)
Do Hickey tall pine tree die
die cutting machine
Versa Fine black ink pad
Tim Holtz distress ink pads - pine needles, mowed lawn & Cut n Dry
wet glue
glitter glue
black glitter
Do Crafts beige & gold Happy Christmas satin ribbon
faceted green gem

Stick the gold mirri card to the base card and cut to size.
Cut the green sugar paper to mat and layer onto the mirri base card and stick into place.
Cut another piece of mirri card to mat and layer onto the green sugar paper but leave a slightly wider green border around. Stick into position.

Using the Artylicious Seasons Greetings CD select the "Joy to the World" section and chose the turquoise swirly whirly background image. Select the square print version and print onto a good quality mat print paper.
Cut the printed paper to mat and layer onto the mirri card previously pasted onto the base card and stick into position (I used the image with the darker side of the pattern to the left).

Using the Little Claire So Exciting silhouette stamp and the Versaa Fine ink pad stamp the image onto a piece of the green sugar paper.
Cut the image to size.
Shade the image using the Tim Holts distress inks and the Cut n Dry (start at the bottom of the image with the pine needles and fade into mowed lawn then fade this into the original green colour of the paper).
Go over the baubles, star and the ground with the wet glue (if you have a fine nozzle on your glue you will be able to glue the fine detail but if not you could  use a fine paint brush to apply the glue).
Sprinkle the black glitter over the image and shake off any excess. Allow to dry.

Stick the topper image onto gold mirri board and cut the board down to mat and layer.
Stick the topper onto the base card.

Cut a piece of the ribbon and stick onto the card to create the sentiment.

Using the Do Hickey tree die and the turquoise leather embossed card cut out 2 large trees and 1 small tree.
Cut down one of the tall tree trunks.
Colour the trees with the distress inks using the Cut n Dry and then cover with the glitter glue. Allow to dry.
Stick the trees onto the card.

Make a bow using the satin ribbon and stick it onto the card so that the tails of the bow do not have the writing showing.

Stick the green gem onto the end of the sentiment ribbon to hide the rough edge of the ribbon.

Fathers Day stamp challenge

Hello everyone, today I have a recipe for a Fathers Day card because Little Claire are using "Fathers Day" as the theme for their June stamp challenge. I hope my card inspires you to enter the challenge.

If you do decide to enter you could win this lovely stamp set which would be great for any Dad/man themed card.
GOOD LUCK....

what you will need:
6" x 6" base card
black sugar paper/card
white card to stamp onto
pastel chalks & Cut n Dry
colouring in impliments
black fine tip pen
black Veras Fine ink pad
3" long sentiment
metallic crochet/embroidery cotton
needle

Cut the black sugar paper roughly to the size of the base card and stick onto the base card.
Trim the black sugar paper to size.

Take the bubbles paper from the Magic Mono paper pad and notice that some of the bubbles have what look like eyes and mouths. Using the pastel chalks and the Cut n Dry colour these bubbles in two shades of green.
With the chalks and Cut n Dry colour the rest of the background with two shades of blue.
Draw black dots in the eyes of the green bubbles and a fishey tail at the opposite end from the eye.
One of the fishy bubbles in the right hand corner of the paper will be the feature fish that you attach the fishing line to so just be aware of this.

Ink the image using the Versa Fine ink pad and using tape mask off the puddle at the bottom of the stamp. Put some stamp cleaner onto a cotton bud and carefully remove the ink from the fishing line. Stamp the image onto the white card.
Cut the image to size and colour in.
Mat and layer the image onto the black sugar paper.
Thread the metallic thread through the needle and stick the needle through the topper where the fishing line would have been attached to the rod.
Remove the needle and secure the thread to the back of the topper using tape.
Cut the thread roughly to length allowing extra to secure at the back of the paper (remember too long is better than too short).
Stick the topper onto the coloured fishy paper (remember to keep your feature fish at the bottom right of the paper).
Thread the metallic thread through the needle and stick the needle through the fishes lip.
Stick the thread onto the topper and down to the fish and secure from behind using tape (I stuck the thread by applying PVA glue to my thumb and finger and rolled the thread between them. I cleaned my hands and then held the thread in place till the glue stuck - the less glue you use the quicker it dries).

Stick the paper topper combo to the base card.

Make or stamp the sentiment - I used a pre set sentiment from my graphics program (my graphics program is Craft Artist) and re sized it to 3" from side to side and then I printed it, but if you have a sentiment stamp this would be just as good to use.
Cut the sentiment to size and mat and layer onto black sugar paper.
Stick the sentiment onto the card.

Ribbon & Twine digi challenge

Hi Alli here with you today and it is the launch of the Little Claire June digi stamp competition and this is what you could win if you decide to enter

5 digi stamps of your choice

I have made this moving home card as I am moving home in the next few weeks so why not make a card for myself - ha ha. I think it looks really summery and the beach huts were so easy to colour in.

what you will need:
Little Claire digi Beach Huts stamp
6" x 6" base card
pink sugar paper
orange sugar paper
white card to print onto
Nit Wit One Birdie Lane paper pad
Tim Holts picked berry distress ink pad & Cut n Dry
Tim Holtz mowed Lawn distress ink pad & Cut n Dry
Tim Holtz evergreen bough distress ink pad & Cut n Dry
white angel hair
Hobbycraft alphabet stamps
green twine
pink satin ribbon
embellishments

Cut a strip of angel hair trimming about 1 1/2" by 17" and colour it using the evergreen bough distress ink. Blot off any excess ink and leave to dry (overnight).

Cut the pink sugar paper to mat and layer onto the white base card but do not stick into place.
Cut the spotty paper from the One Birdie Lane paper pad to mat and layer onto the pink sugar paper and using the Tim Holts Picked Berry distress ink and the Cut n Dry shade the edges.

Cut the previously stained angel hair trimming into two and attach to the card. Try to get the angel hair to overlap in places as it is meant to look like a piece of fishing net. (I stuck the angel hair directly on to the front of the card using wet glue but it was a messy business and I would recommend that you wrap the angel hair around to the back of the paper and secure with tape).
Stick the spotty paper/ange hair combo onto the pink sugar paper.

Cut a piece of pink bird house paper about 112mm x 105mm from the One Birdie Lane paper pad and mat and layer it onto the orange sugar paper.
Stick these papers at a jaunty angel onto the spotty paper previously made.

Using your graphics program re size the Little Claire digi Beach Huts stamp to 3 5/8" from side to side and print onto the white card.
Cut the image to size and colour in.
Mat and layer the coloured image onto the orange sugar paper and stick on top of the other papers at a jaunty angle.

Stick the pink ribbon to the papers and secure at the back with tape.
Attach three pieces of the green twine to the ribbon (I unravelled my twine to produce three strands).

Stick the papers to the base card.

Colour a piece of white card with the mowed lawn and evergreen bough distress inks.
Arrange the Hobbycraft alphabet letters on a stamping block to read the words "moving house" and stamp using the Versa Fine ink pad.
Cut the sentiment to size.
Stick the sentiment onto the card.

Tie a double bow with the green twine and attach to the card.

Add various embellishments (for my sea shells I used a pearl coloured plastic seashells sold on a string by the metre from Hobbycraft. I cut the sea shells from the string and painted them with some old nail varnishes that I had. I used ordinary pearl gems and painted them with nail varnish too).
