Hay look Ma I`m on TV

Hello, well I`m not on TV but my cards are. I did some samples for Crafters Companion a week or two ago and today they are on Hochanda with Fiona Clayton and I think the next show is at 3 this afternoon. I love this card using the Diamond Press dies & stamps and as I am a sewer myself I really connected with this set.

what was used:
NitWit Dress Shoppe 8" x 8" paper pad
6" x 6" white base card
craft card
white card to stamp onto and die cut
white linen card
grey ink pad
pink ink pad
small heart punch
pink sewing cotton
small white button

This is a fun card to make but I did use my Scan n Cut to make the doily shape so if you don't have this machine you could use any doily die or even a corner or apeture die instead.

Some people have asked what is the best way to use these dies and stamps and I find it easier to cut out the shape and then stamp the image onto it. Because the stamps are clear it is easy to see where the stamp is on the card but some people I know prefer to take the card to the stamp.

I hand cut the little cotton bobbin and wound the cotton onto it.

My little battered up old car made it through its MOT and lives to drive another year although my purse is much lighter now so no more treats for me this month. I hate driving but love my car as it gives me some independence, but she`s an old girl now and I do fear for her every year at MOT time.
The snow that was promised over the weekend never arrived although it was bitter cold. Its all change today as its dull and wet so I think a day of crafting is the best way to deal with a miserable Monday in January.

Is it Valentines Day soon?

Hello, todays card is a sweet little design that I made for a Crafters Companion Diamond Press TV show which I think may be aired on Monday. The little plane is cute and the banner stamp comes separate to the sentiment so you could put anything you want on there and although I made this as a congratulations card I think it would work well as a Valentines card.

what was used:
gold mirri card
black card
fine detail gold embossing powder
gold crochet thread

This is a really simple card to make basically mat and layering and a bit of heat embossing. I have sent the original card off to be shown on TV and forgot to measure the size of the base card (sorry).

Today I have taken my little old car for its MOT and I am waiting for the dreaded phone call from the garage so I am writing this blog to keep my mind active. We have been forecast snow here in Lincolnshire tonight and as I have to drive to work tomorrow I am feeling a bit anxious about that also. I normally lock myself away in my craft room when I am anxious, I did that first thing this morning and made a lovely Birthday card for my sister whose Birthday is in March and I will share it with you when I have taken a picture of it. I hope wherever you live you don't get too much snow and if you do I hope you don't have to go out in it unless its for playing.

New year new stamps

😺 Happy New Year my crafty friends, the holidays seem like a long time ago now don't they. I`m sharing a card with you today that I have made using a new stamp from LC Designs which they launched last week. I must admit that I made this card a while ago when I first got my Brother Scan n Cut machine and I used it quite a lot on this here but I know that most crafters wont have a Scan n Cut so you could use dies and punches from your stash.

what was used:
fine detail swirly clear stamp
6" x 6" white base card
pale blue card
cream card
white card to stamp onto
pink card scraps from stash
blue and white spotted paper from stash
Imagination Crafts stencil
3 x Daisy punches
2 x hole punches
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Tea Dye & Spun Sugar
black Versa Fine ink pad
wide white organza ribbon
pink satin ribbon
pink satin ribbon bow
pink bakers twine
Glamour Dust glitter

The little bootees, corner patches, base shape to stamp image onto and the background mat layer were all made using pre installed patterns on the Brother Scan n Cut machine.

To make the pink backing paper I used Tim Holts Spun Sugar and sponged through the Imagination Craft stencil onto cream card.

The lovely image was stamped onto the pre cut white card and then I made a mask to cover the image and very lightly tinted the white card with the Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink using a sponge. I removed the mask and coloured the image. I stamped around the edge of the image card with the Spun Sugar ink pad and swirly stamp then I ran around the edge of the image card shape with liquid glue, sprinkled with Glamour Dust and allowed to dry.

The rest of the card is straight forward to make.

I was back at work this weekend and although I loved Christmas I am glad to get back to normal, especially my sleeping pattern which did suffer. I don't make New Year resolutions but I do have crafty things that I would love to do this year including more mixed media after seeing some amazing work my friends have done (thank you Inkybliss and Jane Royston). I would like to do more patchwork too but it takes me ages and I don't know if I will have the time to commit to it but I will keep it in mind. I also need to get some planting done in the garden to encourage the insects and create more colour but that will be in spring. I did treat myself to some cutting files from the Digital Craft Emporium over Christmas (they were very reasonable) and I am so pleased with them that I think I will be using my Scan n Cut a lot more now.
I hope you manage to keep to your resolutions if you have made any and I do hope that you will keep having a look at my little blog of indulgence, but most of all I hope your crafty mojo is energised and you create some amazing things this year.

Thank you for joining me Xx
