Darling Daschunds

Hello its Alli here with a card make for today's Little Claire blog project and I was on Face Book the other day when I saw that someone had posted a sweet photo of a couple of sausage dogs and it reminded me of this really lovely stamp which I bought last year and I have to say I have used it again and again because it is such a great design. So here is yet another incarnation for these stamps.

what you will need:
Little Claire Darling Daschunds stamp set
Little Claire dinky sentiment stamp - Happy Birthday Mrs Lovely
8" x 6" white base card
white card to stamp onto
Versa Fine black ink pad
Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad - Spun Sugar and Cut n Dry foam
colouring in implements
dark pink heavy weight paper
Nit Wit Perfect Pair paper pad - white with pink hearts
various flower punches and dies
small butterfly punch/die
small hole punch
ring binder hole punch
wet glue
Glamour Dust glitter
white satin ribbon

Cut the base card down so that it measures 7 3/4" x 3 1/2" and now is a tent fold card.
Cut the dark pink paper to mat and layer on top of the base card and stick into place.
Cut a piece of the Nit Wit Perfect Pair paper (white with pink hearts) to mat and layer on top on the pink paper stuck onto the base card and stick into position.

Using the Versa Fine ink pad and the two large (boy and girl) Daschunds from the Little Claire Darling Daschunds stamp set stamp the images onto the white card.
Trim the image to size (about 6 3/4" x 2 1/8").
Using the Little Claire sentiment stamp Happy Birthday Mrs Lovely and the Versa Fine ink pad stamp the sentiment onto the image topper.
Colour the image in using your choice of colouring in implements.
Mat and layer the image onto the dark pink paper.
Stick the image topper onto the base card.

Cut out various flowers using your dies and punches and colour some of them using the Tim Holts Spun Sugar Distress Ink and the Cut n Dry foam.
Apply wet glue to the coloured flowers, sprinkle with Glamour Dust glitter, shake off excess and allow to dry.
Glue small white flowers to the centre of the larger pink flowers.
From the dark pink paper punch out 7 dots using the small hole punch and 1 dot using the ring binder punch.
Bevel the dots and stick onto the centre of the flowers.
Stick the flowers onto the card.
Cut a piece of white satin ribbon and fold it in two. Apply glue to the folded end of the ribbon and stick it under the petals of the large flower.

Punch the butterfly from the dark pink paper using the butterfly punch.
Crease the butterfly down the body section and stick onto the card.

Now you just need to find someone lovely to give it to - not a problem Xx

Little Claire August Stamp Challenge - Christmas

Today Little Claire launch their August stamp challenge and the theme is Christmas because as all good stampers know that's when we start preparing for Christmas. Enter your super-duper Christmas card and you could win this fantastic prize of........Little Claire Goodies

When Little Claire sent me this little dinkie stamp I have to admit I put it to one side and forgot about it for a few weeks, but then when I found it again I was so pleased because look at this dinkie Christmas card I have made with it. When I make a small card I have to re adjust my thinking as I always want to stick lots of things on which just wont fit, so I think the answer is to pare back the embellishments and then the card just happenes. The Quirky Quilt papers are a great base to start your colour scheme with and even though they are not Christmassy they are perfect for the job.

what you will need:
Little Claire 3 Cheers for Christmas Snowmen dinkie stamp (not sure when this goes on sale)
Little Claire dinkie mini craft scalloped card
Little Claire dinkie mini Quirkie Quilts paper pad (blue/green paper)
Little Claire dinkie text Happy Christmas stamp
Versa Fine ink pad - black
260gsm white card to stamp onto
red card
Tattered Lace Essentials Circles die No 9
Lea`bilities Christmas Foliage dies No 459920
die cutting machine
Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink & Cut n Dry foam

colouring in implements
wet glue
Glamour Dust glitter

Stick the paper/card combo onto the Little Claire mini craft scalloped card making sure that the card opens as a tent fold card.

Stamp the Little Claire 3 Cheers for Christmas Snowmen image onto the white card using the Versa Fine ink pad.
Take the Tattered Lace Essentials die No 9 and secure it over the image (you will lose some of the bottom part of the image).
Run the die through the die cutting machine.
Colour in the image with your choice of colouring in implements.
Spread wet glue along the bottom of the image where you wish it to look like snow and sprinkle with Glamour Dust glitter then shake off the excess and allow to dry.
Stick the image onto the base card.

Cut 3 small holly leaves from paper scraps form your stash using the Lea`bilities die.
Shade the edges of the leaves using the Tim Holts Vintage Photo distress ink and the Cut n Dry foam.
Shape the holly leaves and stick onto the card.
Using the Lea`bilities die cut 1small berry (which will be used as the large berry on the card) and punch 2 berries using the ring binder hole punch from the red card.
Bevel the berries to make them rounded and stick onto the card.

Stamp the Little Claire dinkie text Happy Christmas onto a scrap of craft card.
Trim the sentiment down to size.
Using the small hole punch make 2 dots from the red card.
Bevel the red dots.

This is the card I have made for the Little Claire August digi challenge, I didn't mean to post this article yet but it has posted so I will go with it. The challenge isn't launched till 5/8/15 so see if you can guess what the theme is just by looking at the card (I wouldn't have got it by looking at the card). If you want to enter the challenge just take a look at the Little Claire blog on that date and you will find all the information you need to enter. Good luck...........

brown paper

Cut n Dry foam
gold ribbon
Hobbycraft sentiment stamps

11 small pearl embellishments
3 amber coloured crystals

Cut a piece of card to roughly the size you need for the crackle backing paper.
Paint the card with the gold water based paint and allow to completely dry (make sure that the gold completely covers the card).
Paint the card with the gum Arabic and allow to completely dry.
Paint the card with the duck egg blue water based paint and wait for the crackles to appear. Allow the card to completely dry.
Trim the card to the required size.
Tint the edges of the card using the Cut n Dry foam and Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink.
Using your random swirly image stamp and the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink stamp the image around the edges of the card to create a vintage faded/worn look.
Mat and layer the crackle background onto the mirri card.
Stick the crackle background/mirri card onto the base card.

Open up the Little Claire Swirly Birdcage digi stamp in your graphics program and re size the image to measure 4" from one side of the vine to the other.
Print the image onto good quality cream card.
Position the Tattered Lace Essentials Circles die No11 over the image (you will cut into some of the vine) and run through a die cutting machine to cut out the image.
Using the Cut n Dry and Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink shade around the edges of the circle.
Colour the image with your choice of colouring in implements.
Cut a circle from the gold mirri card using the Tattered Lace Essentials Circles die No12.
Stick the image circle onto the gold mirri card circle but place the image off centre so that more of the mirri card is showing at the right hand side.
Stick the mirri card and the image topper circle onto the base card.
Using a fine tip black pen draw the vine tendrils coming off of the image and onto the crackle background.
Using one of the First Editions tag dies which has the cut out flowers at the bottom cut 3 large flowers and 7 small flowers from the pink paper.
Stick the flowers onto the image and the tendrils which you have drawn but leave one of the small flowers to one side to put on the sentiment.
Stick a small pearl in the centre of each flower.

Tint the edges of the tags using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink and the Cut n Dry foam.
